Call for participants for EnTIRE Consultations

Public trust in science is crucial. As researchers, we need to safeguard ethics and integrity in scientific research. Yet in Europe there is no central resource containing information on how to perform science responsibly and with integrity.

The EnTIRE project aims to create an online platform that makes information about research Integrity and research ethics easily accessible to the research community. The platform will foster uptake of ethical standards and responsible conduct of research, and ultimately support research excellence and strengthen society’s confidence in research and its findings. It will offer help to anyone seeking support in handling day-to-day research practices and dilemmas, and provide best-practice guidelines, cases, and tools for finding relevant regulations. EnTIRE is a H2020 project funded by the European Commission, and is being developed by a consortium consisting of ten partners from across the European Union.

EnTIRE seeks to include all stakeholders in a participatory way. After a pilot-phase in which we conducted face-to-face focus group discussions in Spain, Croatia, and the Netherlands, we’re now organizing an online scale-up phase. In this online scale-up phase we invite participants from the European scientific community to a closed online discussion that will be held from Monday February 19th until Sunday March 4th, 2018.

We’re now at the stage of recruiting participants for the online scale-up: a global online discussion to which we would like to invite as many researchers, journal editors, members of national or local ethics/integrity committees, science policy makers, industry researchers, and representatives from research funding organisations as possible.

Submission deadline: 1 February 2018
