Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia is looking for 2 highly motivated, full-time postdoctoral researchers for a 2-year contract to work in the area of human-robot interaction with the focus on human social cognition. The research Line will be led by Agnieszka Wykowska, in close relation to her ERC project “InStance: Intentional Stance for Social Attunement”. The successful candidates will work on designing empirical studies, conducting experiments and analyzing data (eyetracking, EEG, performance measures). The aim of this research is to understand how and when mechanisms of social cognition in the human brain are activated by interactions with artificial agents (the iCub robot in this case). The research will focus on social gestures of the robot (eye movements and manual gestures) and will examine joint attention, intention and action understanding and joint action.
