Post-Doctoral position in Measurement and Statistics, University of Haifa, Israel

The Edmond J. Safra Brain Research Center for the Study of Learning Disabilities at the University of Haifa invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in the field of measurement and advanced statistical analysis. The Center has recently launched a major collaborative study: a longitudinal investigation of the early development of reading, writing and math from kindergarten to grade 2. This study focuses on the cognitive, psycholinguistic and neuropsychological aspects of early literacy and numeracy learning in Hebrew and in Arabic. This project adopts a primarily individual-differences approach with a special emphasis on children with learning difficulties.

The successful candidate should have a PhD and a strong background in psychological and/or educational research as well as (quantitative) research methods and statistics. The post-doc will specialize in the analysis of longitudinal change.

The position will be for three years commencing in December, 2017 and will include a period of training in advanced statistical techniques at the University of Houston, Texas. Native-level spoken and written Hebrew and/or Arabic as well as the ability to work in a team is essential. The proven ability to write publishable research papers in English and to undertake independent research will be a major advantage.
