Post Doc position in Research Training Group “Statistical Modeling in Psychology”


The DFG Research Training Group “Statistical Modeling in Psychology” (SMiP) offers 1 Post Doc position (100% TV-L E13, 4.5 years, start in October 2017). The SMiP group is a transregional collaboration of twelve renowned behavioral researchers from five German universities: University of Mannheim, Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, University of Koblenz-Landau at Landau, and Eberhard Karls University Tübingen. The Post Doc will become an appreciated member of the SMiP group, focusing on recent advancements in Bayesian modeling. In collaboration with the SMiP group researchers, she or he will be responsible for (a) integrating innovations in Bayesian modeling and estimation techniques relevant for psychological research, (b) the comparative evaluation of Bayesian and classical methods of model fitting and statistical inference, and (c) the development of software that helps to apply Bayesian modeling methods to entire model classes rather than specific model variants.
