PhD program at the University of Milano-Bicocca


The PhD program in Psychology, Linguistics and Cognitive Neuroscience at the University of Milano-Bicocca offers 9 PhD positions (three-year program beginning in November 2015) all of which are supported by a scholarship. The University is young, dynamic, and ready to make its contribution to cultural, socio-economic and technical development: research is regarded as fundamentally strategic to all the University functions. The PhD program consists of two curricula:

Curriculum 1 Mind, Brain and Behavior
Curriculum 2 Cognitive, Social and Clinical Psychology

Curriculum 1 (Mind, Brain and Behavior) focuses on the study of attention, cognition, language, motivation and emotion during the whole life span, with emphasis on their functional organization and neural correlates, and psychometrics. To achieve these goals it exploits the methods and techniques of experimental psychology, psychophysics and psychometrics, developmental psychology, science of language, neuropsychology, cognitive neuroimaging and electrophysiology.

Curriculum 2 (Cognitive, Social and Clinical Psychology) focuses on the study of thinking, reasoning and decision processes, personality and its disorders, clinical psychology, social, working and organizational psychology, using the methods of experimental, social and clinical psychology, with a strong interaction between theory and practice.
