PhD Positions at the Sackler Centre, Brighton, UK


The Sackler Centre has two funded places for Ph.D. projects for entry in September 2017. Depending on their choice of project, candidates should make an application via the School of Informatics or the School of Psychology. Scholarships cover living expenses at standard rates, and tuition fees for home/EU students.  Topics include: 1. Evaluating the nature and neural bases of unconscious reward learning 2. Consciousness with a “blind mind’s eye”: Visual knowledge in aphantasia 3. Conscious and unconscious perception in the Bayesian brain 4. Information flow, integration and complexity in neural dynamics 5. Investigating conscious presence through virtual, augmented and substitutional reality 6. Interoceptive inference and the neural basis of emotion and self. Application deadline: 11 January 2017.
