2 Fellow junior positions in an ERC project “Intentional Stance for Social attunement (InStance)"
The successful candidates will be involved in designing and conducting experiments with protocols based on an interaction between a human and the humanoid robot iCub. The candidate will work for designing the experiments, collecting behavioural data (performance measures such as reaction times or error rates, eyetracking data) and EEG data from adult human participants. The tasks of the successful candidate will also involve data analysis (behavioural and EEG) and preparation of data for publication in peer-reviewed international journals.
Project InStance (funded from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme - Grant Agreement No 715058) focuses on mechanisms of social cognition. It aims at understanding whether and when humans attribute mental states to artificial agents, such as humanoid robots, and how this influences attunement in social interactions.
The candidates should have:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Cognitive or Social Neuroscience, or equivalent. The Degree should be obtained before the starting date of the employment (May 2017);
- Experience with empirical research in cognitive psychology or cognitive/social neuroscience;
- Experience with designing and running experiments in the area of experimental psychology or social/cognitive neuroscience
- Experience with data analysis (behavioural and possibly EEG);
- Excellent knowledge of statistics;
- Excellent English language skills (oral and written);
- Experience in writing scientific papers or publication-like reports.
Starting date: May 2017, duration 6 months.
