ESCoP’s new open-access journal, Journal of Cognition, is accepting submissions. The Journal of Cognition provides a rigorous alternative for researchers who want to make their work publicly available but worry about the standards of quality of open-access journals. We aim to make the Journal of Cognition the first choice for cognitive psychologists.

Besides applying the same thorough and rigorous peer review to our open-access journal as we would expect for a traditional journal, the Journal of Cognition promotes high standards of research transparency. We have signed onto the Transparency and Openness Promotion Guidelines from the Center for Open Science, and are one of minority of journals that invites replication attempts and registered reports. Please see our website, www.journalofcognition.org, for more details.

The regular fee for publishing in the Journal of Cognition is €1150, substantially less than competing open-access journals (e.g., PLoS, Frontiers). ESCoP members receive a discount of €150 and Journal of Cognition reviewers receive a discount of €100. These discounts may both apply, bringing the fee down to as little as €900. See our website for more details about how the fees are used.
